Adjunct Assistant Professor

Tulane University School of Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology is seeking a part-time, hourly Biostatistician to support clinical research studies and investigator-initiated projects.

About the role

This flexible, part-time hourly position offers an opportunity to contribute to innovative clinical research within a nationally recognized academic gastroenterology and hepatology program. Work hours are determined based on project needs and candidate availability.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with faculty and research staff on study design, sample size, and power calculations.
• Develop statistical analysis plans.
• Perform data analysis and interpret results.
• Prepare abstracts, manuscripts, grant applications, and regulatory reports.
• Provide statistical consultation throughout the lifecycle of clinical trials and observational research studies.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in biostatistics, statistics, epidemiology, or a related quantitative field.
• Experience analyzing clinical research data using statistical software such as SAS, R, SPSS, or Stata.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary research teams.
