About the role

The military junta in Myanmar has recently implemented universal conscription. This creates an urgent situation for all young people in Myanmar. Civ.works is seeking a small team of 2-3 volunteers to address both the policy and advocacy aspects of the situation. The team will research methods to leave the country or achieve safety, and safely share this information with individuals. They will also seek methods to lobby or sanction to press for the end of the policy. Additionally, they will collect backup contact information for youth who may be affected.

Requirements

  • Passionate about human rights and civic engagement

  • Fluency in English and Burmese is preferred
