About the role
HireArt is helping our client find an Additive Manufacturing Specialist to serve as a technical anchor for the additive manufacturing (AM) lab, driving the end-to-end realization of complex autonomous vehicle prototypes.
Responsibilities
- Provide design consultation and DfAM guidance, optimizing geometries for SLA, SLS, FDM, and PolyJet processes while identifying potential build risks early.
- Develop and standardize build parameters and post-processing workflows for additive manufacturing and laser cutting to ensure consistent, high-quality output.
- Oversee the assembly of complex prototypes, integrating 3D-printed components with CNC-machined parts and electronic systems.
- Execute and guide post-processing activities, including sanding, painting, dyeing, inserts, and other finishing techniques.
- Cook up and prioritize incoming requests (e.g., Jira tickets) to align with prototyping timelines and project needs.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and lead repair efforts for AM and laser cutting equipment to maximize uptime and throughput.
- Serve as the technical liaison for vendors, managing service coordination, support, and equipment-related issues.
- Share knowledge and best practices as a subject matter expert, promoting advanced AM techniques and safety protocols.
