Counselor Job Summary

You will meet with clients, analyze their mental health status, and develop a course of therapy to address their issues. You may work with clients who have substance abuse issues, depression, or anxiety. Our ideal candidate will have a B.S. or M.S. in psychology, along with a CADC. Clinical experience is also a requirement.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Meet with clients to perform assessments.
  • Develop a course of therapy for treatment.
  • Meet with clients regularly and provide them with the tools they need to overcome barriers.
  • Provide references to other healthcare professionals and providers.
  • Network with outside healthcare providers for relationship building.
  • Complete notes and bill for services using SAMMS software.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Maintain a caseload of 40-50 clients.
  • Maintain continued stay reviews every 30-90 days, depending on client progress.
  • Maintain discharge and continuing care documents.
  • Ensure that DARTS are entered into SAMMS completely regardless of payer source.
  • Conduct regularly scheduled group and individual counseling sessions as needed.

Requirements And Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or similar field (Preferred).
  • Clinical experience.
  • State counseling license (preferred).
  • Strong critical thinking, communication, and listening skills.
  • CADC – Certificate of Alcohol and Drug Counseling.
