About the role

The PACT Addictions Specialist functions as the team's substance abuse specialist to provide treatment, rehabilitation and support services to adults with substance abuse conditions and co-occurring mental illness. The PACT Addictions Specialist leads design of intervention strategies & relapse prevention plans; works with persons served on sobriety issues, using motivational interviewing techniques and stages of change model, under the supervision of the Team Leader.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with clients to evaluate their current life circumstances compared to their hopes, dreams and plans for the future using a motivational interviewing and strengths based rehabilitation approach.
  • Lead design of intervention strategies & relapse prevention plans.
  • Work with persons served on sobriety issues.

Requirements

  • CADAC, LADAC I or II in the State of service required.
  • Three to five years supervised practical experience, including internships, in a clinical or rehabilitation setting with persons who have psychiatric disabilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in a human service discipline preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Strong time management, writing and organizational skills.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and have a current, valid, US drivers' license for at least 6 months, have access to a reliable vehicle and be able to pass a CORI, driving record, reference, educational and professional licensure check as well as a multi-state background check.

Qualifications
