Job Overview

The position is located at our Woodland Park Health Center in NE Portland, OR. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

About the Role

Works collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team environment, providing addiction services to assigned clients. Develops or assists in the development of service plans tailored to each client's needs, while supporting a Trauma Informed Care environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assess client needs and complete an Addiction Assessment.
  • Integrate best practices into the day-to-day operations including; Harm Reduction, Trauma Informed Care and Motivational Interviewing.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of client service plans utilizing established treatment models by assessing client behavior.
  • Implement treatment plans utilizing established treatment models.
  • Coach clients in setting their own goals and identifying realistic steps in order to achieve the goals.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of treatment plans and recommend alternate strategies as necessary.
  • Be flexible and able to support fellow co-workers and ask for clinical support when needed.
  • Work cooperatively in a team setting to coordinate continuity of care; coordinate with internal and external service providers.
  • Facilitate both group and individual therapy, build relapse prevention plans, conduct family/support person sessions, and termination sessions.
  • Perform UA sample collections weekly for clients, keeping in mind of chain of custody.
  • Know and adhere to generally accepted treatment standards, departmental rules, company policies and terms and conditions of contracts or grants.
  • Document and maintain electronic health record (EHR) and ancillary records in a manner that assures compliance with all agency policies, program procedures and local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation associated with billing, assessment, treatment, residents’ progress, consultation, contacts, and other activities as required.
  • Respect and honor client rights and responsibilities and demonstrate professional boundaries and ethics.
  • Absorb and comply with federal regulation of Alcohol and Drug information, 42CFR Part 2 and HIPAA regulations for client confidentiality.
  • Participate in all scheduled staff meetings, supervision sessions, and other departmental and agency meetings.
  • Complete annual employee training requirements on a timely basis as indicated in the licensing requirements for the facility as well as agency requirements.
  • Attend seminars, training and other educational opportunities in order to develop professional skills and abilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • An Associate’s degree or certificate in Addictions programming or related field.
  • Must be at least a CADC applicant and eligible for a CADC I and obtain CADC within two years of applicant status.
  • Preferred that the clinician have a CADCI or CADCII.
  • Experience Knowledge and experience in working with clients involved with the Child Welfare System, gender specific populations, and clients coming from the criminal justice system preferred.
  • Specialized Knowledge, Skills And Abilities:
    • Understanding of strength based case management philosophies and strategies.
    • Understanding of trauma informed services.
    • Ability to implement recovery model, motivational interviewing, and stages of change.
    • Ability to operate computer hardware and software (including Electronic Medical Record software) at a level needed to effectively perform job functions.
    • Knowledge of accepted treatment practice.
    • Ability to enter data and retrieve data and to prepare simple reports.
