Adaptive Equipment Technician

Responsibilities
- Choose proper materials and operate hand and power tools to construct, modify, maintain, and repair adaptive equipment
- Machine, shape, and assemble parts for specialized assistive and therapeutic devices based on resident needs
- Construct, modify, and repair orthopedic shoes and devices according to prescriptions
- Restore and adjust equipment such as wheelchairs, walkers, scooters, braces, and other devices used for mobility and therapy
- Operate machines used for shaping wood, metal, plastics, rubber, cloth, leather, and related materials
- Order durable medical equipment, maintain inventory, and work with vendors to meet resident needs
Schedule
Full-time employment (7.5 hours per day/37.5 hours per week). Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Telework is not available for this position.
Qualifications
Required Experience, Training & Eligibility
- Two years of experience in the fabrication, assembly, or repair of adaptive equipment
- Ability to perform essential job functions
A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination. This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. A conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
