Highly qualified Special Education Teacher holding an Adapted Physical Education Specialist Credential. Experienced in developing and implementing individualized physical education programs that support students with diverse learning, developmental, physical, and behavioral needs. Skilled in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, participating in IEP development, and creating inclusive learning environments that promote student growth, mobility, and independence.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement individualized adapted physical education programs
  • Support students with diverse learning, developmental, physical, and behavioral needs
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in IEP development
  • Create inclusive learning environments that promote student growth, mobility, and independence
  • Ensure compliance with special education regulations, IEP goals, assessments, and instructional strategies
  • Work with students requiring specialized physical education services across varying ability levels

Requirements

  • Adapted Physical Education Specialist Credential (California)
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)
  • Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations
  • Minimum of one year experience in a teaching environment (preferred)
  • State Teacher Certification: Standard Elementary, Secondary, or Special Teaching (preferred)
  • Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) endorsement (preferred)
  • Compliance with all relevant professional standards of practice
  • Current CPR certification (if applicable)
  • TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray (if applicable)
  • Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
  • Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
