About the role
The Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS) is seeking a dedicated ADA Specialist to handle the ADA absenteeism process, investigate complaints of discrimination, and manage the interactive process for reasonable accommodation requests.
Responsibilities
- Handle the ADA absenteeism process and list in coordination with DPSCS-HR.
- Investigate complaints of discrimination equal employment opportunity.
- Receive and process ADA reasonable accommodation requests in an interactive process with the employee, medical provider, HR, the appointing authority, and any other relevant parties.
- Maintain confidential ADA files.
- Report out routine ADA data to the Executive Direction.
- Make recommendations regarding ADA training, operational issues, training and programming.
- Provide information and guidance to managers regarding ADA/ADA Absenteeism/EEO laws and requirements for compliance.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
- Five years of administrative staff or professional work.
Desired Qualifications:
- Three (3) years of experience independently managing and owning the ADA interactive process, including evaluating requests and making accommodation determinations.

Pay
Salary: $71,805.00 - $113,243.00/year
