About the role
Provides screening and diagnostic mammography and breast sonography for interpretation by radiologists. If primary job assignment includes special procedures: assisting the radiologist in the performance of needle localizations and biopsies and provides the patient care essential to radiological procedures. Applies principles of radiation protection. Assists in general radiographic and office duties as needed. If primary job assignment is on the mammography van is able to drive the mobile unit to different sites throughout Mercy East Communities.
Responsibilities
- Provides screening and diagnostic mammography and breast sonography for interpretation by radiologists
- Assists the radiologist in the performance of needle localizations and biopsies
- Provides patient care essential to radiological procedures
- Applies principles of radiation protection
- Assists in general radiographic and office duties as needed
- Drives the mobile unit to different sites throughout Mercy East Communities (if assigned to the mammography van)
Requirements
- Successful completion of an accredited Radiological Technology program
- State licensure may be required depending on the specific state of practice
- 2 years of relevant experience
- Certified by the ARRT, R.T(M) + R.T. (BS) or RDMS (BR) or obtains certification in mammography (Breast Ultrasound Certification)
