About the role

The Advanced Nuclear Medicine Technologist operates imaging equipment and software proficiently, primarily nuclear medicine imaging equipment, to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role requires expertise in operating specialized equipment, ensuring radiation safety, and maintaining high-quality imaging standards while prioritizing effective patient communication and safety. A strong commitment to patient care, technical expertise, and collaborative communication with patients and healthcare professionals is essential to provide optimal care.

Responsibilities

  • Operate nuclear medicine imaging equipment and software.
  • Ensure radiation safety and adhere to ALARA standards.
  • Maintain high-quality imaging standards.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Follow biohazard safety and Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) regulations.
  • Adjust protocols as needed and follow complex instructions with strong attention to detail.
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiology Sciences Program in Nuclear Medicine with required clinical hours completed.
  • One (1) year of relevant experience.
  • State licensure may be required depending on the specific state of practice.
  • Certification/Registration: NMTCB or ARRT (N).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of biohazard safety and Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) regulations.
  • Strong decision-making and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to make protocol adjustments as needed.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
  • Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
