Description
The residential programs are modeled off a home setting serving clients whose needs are complex and range in intensity.
Responsibilities
- Initiate constructive activities that address goals on a client's Individual Support Agreement (treatment plan)
- Implement the support and crisis plans (utilizing Therapeutic Options training), in collaboration with the greater treatment team.
- Facilitate community inclusion, daily living, and skill acquisition
- Utilize sound judgement and maintain a calm demeanor during crisis
- Provide needed behavioral and/or mental health support
- Provide needed personal and/or medical care
Requirements
- Three to four years of experience in a human services or combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skill has been acquired
- High school degree or equivalent
- Routine lifting
- Valid driver's license, and use of a personal vehicle
- Knowledge of medical equipment
- Committed to trauma-informed approach
- Person-centered
- Adhere to safety protocols
- Structure
- Variety of schedules including weekend and evening hours
- Travel within Chittenden County
Qualifications
- Residential homes located in Burlington, Colchester, & Essex
- Non-exempt AFSCME Union (dues will apply)
- Starting at $22.75 an hour
