Job Requirements

  • Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and judgment to care for dialysis patients in an acute care setting.
  • Registered Professional Nurse with current state licensure.
  • Minimum of 12 months of nursing experience, including at least 3 months in hemodialysis; 18 months of nursing experience and 6 months in dialysis preferred.
  • Critical care experience (ICU/CCU) is preferred but not required.
  • Home dialysis experience preferred but not required.
  • Must meet all state/licensing requirements.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and manuals.

  • Must have familiarity with dialysis and hospital emergency procedures.
  • Knowledge, skills, and judgment necessary to assume the responsibility of caring for the dialysis patient in the acute or post-acute care setting.
  • Exercise a knowledge of patient rights and ensure an atmosphere that allows for the privacy, dignity, and well-being of all patients in a safe, secure environment.
  • Cooperate and work together with all co-workers to plan and complete job duties with applicable supervisory direction, including exercising job-appropriate judgment.
