About the role
Provides direct patient care in an acute care setting, assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing interventions to promote patient safety and well-being.
Responsibilities
- Develops, implements, and documents individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team, patients, and families.
- Educates patients and families on managing illnesses, post-treatment care, and medication administration.
- Participates in activities to ensure quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Assesses physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and emotional needs, considering patient values and barriers to involvement in care.
- Works as part of a multidisciplinary team including case managers, social workers, and specialists to deliver comprehensive care.
- Maintains safety-sensitive responsibilities, demonstrating alertness and adherence to safety protocols.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Nursing Diploma/Associate’s degree; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Licenses: Valid RN license.
- Experience: No prior experience required; less than 2 years preferred.
- Skills: Critical thinking, effective communication, patient education, teamwork, and adaptability.
Schedule
The role involves working 12‑hour day shifts on a 38‑bed acute care unit.
