Acute Medicine RN - Per Diem

About the role

Provides direct patient care in an acute care setting, assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing interventions to promote patient safety and well-being.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, and documents individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team, patients, and families.
• Educates patients and families on managing illnesses, post-treatment care, and medication administration.
• Participates in activities to ensure quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Assesses physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and emotional needs, considering patient values and barriers to involvement in care.
• Works as part of a multidisciplinary team including case managers, social workers, and specialists to deliver comprehensive care.
• Maintains safety-sensitive responsibilities, demonstrating alertness and adherence to safety protocols.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Nursing Diploma/Associate’s degree; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Licenses: Valid RN license.
• Experience: No prior experience required; less than 2 years preferred.
• Skills: Critical thinking, effective communication, patient education, teamwork, and adaptability.

Schedule

The role involves working 12‑hour day shifts on a 38‑bed acute care unit.
