Acute Medicine Registered Nurse (Part-Time) (Days)

About the role

This position provides direct patient care in an acute‑care, 38‑bed medicine unit at a major hospital. The nurse will assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care activities, promote patient safety, and educate patients and families on managing illnesses and post‑treatment needs. Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team—including case managers, social workers, and physicians—is essential to deliver quality care. The role is safety‑sensitive, requiring constant alertness to ensure safe patient care.

Responsibilities

• Develop and document individualized care plans with clear goals, ensuring effective communication across care settings.
• Use critical nursing skills to assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs while respecting patient values and cultural considerations.
• Participate in activities that enhance patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance, along with ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Minimum: Nursing Diploma/Associate’s degree and RN license; no prior experience required.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and at least 2 years of experience.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and patient‑education skills.

Schedule

Part‑time role with 24 hours/week, 12‑hour shifts, and a nurse‑to‑patient ratio of 4 or 5:1.
