Acute Medicine Nurse - Full-Time Days

About the Role

Provides direct patient care in a 38-bed Acute Care Medicine unit, assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care within established standards. Promotes patient and family-centered care, educating on illness management, post-treatment care, and medication administration. Collaborates with an interprofessional team including case managers, social workers, therapists, dietitians, and pharmacists to ensure quality care.

Responsibilities

• Develops and documents individualized care plans with clear goals, ensuring effective communication across care teams.
• Assesses physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, considering patient preferences, cultural, spiritual, and population-specific factors.
• Participates in safety, quality, and regulatory activities, ongoing professional development, and promotes a healing environment.

Requirements

• Nursing Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing; RN license required.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and less than 2 years of experience.
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills essential.
