About the Role
Provides direct inpatient nursing care across various renal therapy modalities, including hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, CRRT, and Apheresis.
Responsibilities
- Assesses and adjusts treatment plans for patients undergoing renal therapies.
- Collaborates with healthcare teams to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Supervises staff and ensures safe, effective, and timely delivery of treatments.
- Maintains accurate documentation and prepares equipment for procedures.
- Conducts safety tests and manages treatment-related procedures.
- Acts as a subject matter expert in renal therapies.
- Participates in training, meetings, and quality improvement activities.
- Reports incidents and assists with projects as needed.
Requirements
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- At least 6 months of nephrology nursing experience.
- Strong patient assessment skills.
- Current CPR certification.
- Leadership ability and strong organizational skills.
- Commitment to ongoing nephrology education.
ICU experience is preferred.
Work Environment
- Direct patient care in inpatient settings.
- Travel between facilities may be required.
- On-call duties as needed.
- Exposure to infectious materials.
- Physical effort required, including lifting and moving heavy equipment and patients.
