Acute Care Technician II - Behavioral Health
About the role
Welcome to the Inpatient Behavioral Health Services Units 10fg and 10hi at TriHealth Good Samaritan Hospital, where we specialize in providing compassionate and comprehensive care for adults aged 18 and up. Our unit operates on an acute crisis stabilization model, ensuring that patients receive the urgent care they need to regain stability and well-being.
Responsibilities
- Performs and documents basic patient care tasks under RN supervision; maintains competency in trained skills, completes assignments on time, and seeks clarification when needed.
- Maintains a safe, clean environment by reporting hazards, following Infection Control policies, completing safety event reports, and adhering to safety and emergency procedures.
- Communicates effectively and respectfully with patients, families, and team members; reports patient information and assignment issues promptly; documents observations accurately; collaborates with the healthcare team and uses the chain of command appropriately.
- Supports unit operations by performing supply, equipment, and environmental tasks; reports shortages or equipment problems and ensures supplies/equipment are ready for the next user.
- Demonstrates accountability and commitment to self-growth; identifies areas for improvement and supports organizational and unit changes.
Requirements
- 2 years High School Education
- Age 17 with work permit
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Reading and math ability appropriate to the position
- Experience as an STNA, PCA or ACT strongly preferred
Qualifications
We prefer nurses with psychiatric/behavioral health experience, but we warmly welcome new graduates who are eager to learn and grow in a supportive environment. We offer a 5–6-week orientation that can be shortened or extended dependent upon the new team members learning needs. All new team members attend CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) which is TriHealth’s de-escalation training offered by TriHealth.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00 per hour.
Schedule
The schedule for this position is Part-Time Days - (48 hours bi-weekly) 7:00am - 7:30pm Every 3rd Weekend rotation Holiday rotation.
