Acute Care Resource Nurse

Gifford · Randolph, VT · 1 wk ago
Full-time

About the role

The Acute Care Resource Nurse is a versatile, hospital-wide Registered Nurse who provides dynamic clinical and operational support across multiple units based on real-time patient care needs. Reporting to the Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM), this role ensures safe and efficient patient care by supporting inpatient units with patient assignments, admissions, discharges, high-acuity care, break coverage, and patient flow.

In addition to inpatient support, the Resource Nurse flexibly assists the Emergency Department, Birthing Center, and Surgical Services during periods of lower census, providing critical care support, triage, behavioral health safety coverage, postpartum overflow, and response to high-acuity events. In emergency situations where critical care transport is unavailable, the Resource Nurse may provide advanced clinical support during EMS transport or fill essential staffing roles.
