Actuary Consultant (ASA) - Pharmacy (Remote)
PURPOSE
The Actuarial Consultant will serve as the technical expert and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for medium to complex projects. They will collaborate with Actuarial leadership to develop strategies and processes ensuring efficient, compliant, and error-free implementation towards meeting departmental objectives.
Essential Functions
- Serve as internal consultant and SME for assigned markets.
- Lead and manage moderate to complex analyses working collaboratively with leadership and assigned groups.
- Develop plans for execution of mid-size engagements.
- Develop and analyze actuarial and related items and data relating to pricing, experience analysis, or product development.
- Develop and recommend actuarial assumptions and methods.
- Monitor and revise existing analytical procedures.
- Prepare actuarial justification and communications as appropriate.
- Research, develop and validate methodologies to identify areas of actuarial opportunity.
- Aid in the development of departmental policies and SOPs.
- Supervise a team of matrixed resources (if applicable).
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, Mathematics or related field OR 4 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
- Licenses/Certifications: Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) upon hire.
- Experience: 4 years progressively responsible actuarial experience in health care.
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs): Organizational skills, flexibility, innovation, problem-solving, negotiation, and communication skills, including the ability to express technical and financial analysis clearly.
Salary Range
$98,712 - $196,053
