Activity Therapist - Mental Health Unit - Full time

About the role

The Facility Mathile Center for Mental Health and Wellness Department Mental Crisis Services seeks an Activity Therapist to join their interdisciplinary team. The AT will utilize various therapeutic activities to support the physical and emotional well-being of day treatment patients.

Responsibilities

• Utilize a variety of activities including art, music, games, video, drama, movement, sports, crafts, dance, relaxation techniques, etc., to enhance patient well-being.
• Align group content with the program philosophy and evidence-based practices.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care.
• Provide services as an Occupational Therapy Assistant, Recreational Therapist, or Expressive Therapist, as certified.
• Model and demonstrate Dayton Children’s values in interactions with patients, families, and treatment team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is required.
• One of the following certifications is required:
• MT-BC Music Therapist Board Certified - Certification Board for Music Therapists
• Board Certified Art Therapists (ATR-BC) - THE ART THERAPY CREDENTIALS BOARD, INC
• ATCP Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialists - National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification
• Occupational Therapy Assistant - National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy, Inc. (NBCOT®)
• Board Certified Dance/Movement Therapist - American Dance Therapy Association (ADTA)

Qualifications

• Must be certified in Ohio as an Occupational Therapy Assistant, Recreational Therapist, or Expressive Therapist.

Schedule

Full time, 40 hours per week, 10 hour shifts, day shift from 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM, serving the Mental Health Unit at the Mathile Center.
