Activity Therapist - Full Time

About the role

This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position for an Activity Therapist on our inpatient psychiatric units. The role is ideal for a clinical professional who thrives on providing highly individualized care to an acute patient population.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate assigned treatment groups to meet the needs of various functioning levels and/or diagnostic categories.
• Utilize interviewing techniques, observations, and formal/informal screening/evaluation tools to assess the functional level of patients.
• Identify patients’ assets and problem areas.
• Collaborate with patients in goal-setting.
• Work with the inter-disciplinary team to recommend appropriate activities for goal attainment.
• Assist patients in selecting appropriate groups and activities.
• Complete daily notes for each group.
• Support the inpatient social work department with facilitating groups, clinical assessments, and discharge planning as needed.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in a human services-related field required. Art Therapy, Music Therapy, or other expressive therapy specialty preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree + MT-BC also accepted.
• License: LCSW, LMHC, LICSW, or OT preferred.
• One year of prior inpatient clinical experience preferred.
• Six months of prior experience as a group leader preferred.
