Responsibilities
- Develop and distribute a monthly activities calendar and newsletter for residents and family members.
- Cookout and schedule outside vendors and presenters.
- Coordinate community event planning with the marketing staff.
- Make routine visits to residents.
- Ensure that all charted activity progress notes are informative and descriptive of the services provided and indicate the resident's response to the service.
- Perform administrative requirements, such as completing necessary forms, reports, etc.
- Cookordinate with other departments as necessary and in conjunction with resident care plans.
- Plan, prepare and operate under the Activities budget.
- Set up, implement, and clean up resident group and individual activities.
- Participate in facility surveys by authorized government agencies.
- Create and uphold an atmosphere of warmth, patience, enthusiasm, and a calm and cheerful environment.
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Additional education preferred.
- Must have a minimum two years of experience in an activities, social or recreation program, or similar experience working in a healthcare setting Long Term Care.
- Requires an Activity Director Certification (ADC) from the National Certification Council for Activities Professionals (NCCAP) and maintains certification while employed.
- Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Must maintain and have an active CPR/BLS during employment.
- Prefers experience in long term care, geriatric rehab, sub-acute and or critical care clinical setting.
