Activity Director-Assisted Living - Avamere Sherwood

Responsibilities

• Develop and distribute a monthly activities calendar and newsletter for residents and family members
• Coordinate and schedule outside vendors and presenters
• Participate in community event planning with the marketing staff
• Create and update residents' service plan preferences in their electronic health record
• Make routine visits to residents
• Plan, prepare, and operate under the Activities budget
• Attend quarterly LED meetings

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of two years’ experience in a social or recreation program or similar experience working in a healthcare setting
• Food Handlers Card required upon hire
• Knowledge and experience caring for and interacting with an elder population
• Knowledge of computers, data entry/retrieval, output, etc.
• Able to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, or regulatory agencies
• Able to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies and the public
• Must be 25 years or older to drive company vehicle
