About the Role

This is a full-time, day shift position located at Lakeland Villa. The Activities Director is responsible for planning and implementing activities for nursing home residents. The role involves designing programs to encourage socialization, provide entertainment, relaxation, and fulfillment, and improve daily living skills.

A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. The position requires familiarity with therapeutic recreation/activities concepts, practices, and procedures, and relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. The role also involves leading and directing the work of others and performing a variety of complicated tasks.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement activities for nursing home residents.
• Design programs to encourage socialization, provide entertainment, relaxation, and fulfillment.
• Improve daily living skills of residents.
• Lead and direct the work of others.
• Perform a variety of complicated tasks with creativity and latitude.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of therapeutic recreation/activities practice.
• Activity Director Certification preferred.
• Maintain necessary training hours for current certifications (e.g., ACLS, BTLS, NALS, PALS).
• Compliance with the departmental training calendar.
• Complete specific training for new or updated services/equipment relating to job requirements.
• Complete technical/clinical skill competencies annually.
