About the role
Join our dedicated team at Lakewood as a Program Assistant in our Healthcare Department. You will support the Director of Resident Services in organizing, leading, and documenting engaging activities for residents. You’ll help meet the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical needs of each resident, making a real difference in their daily lives.
Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, and lead individual and group activities
- Keep daily and monthly activity calendars updated and visible
- Support residents during on- and off-campus events
- Maintain attendance records and activity documentation
- Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment
- Care for resident pets and their living spaces
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and residents’ rights policies
- Assist with basic reading/writing tasks for residents
- Collaborate with volunteers and staff across departments
Requirements
- Experience working with older adults (preferred)
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Creativity, flexibility, and patience
- Ability to work with residents with cognitive and physical impairments
- Comfortable with physical activity (lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally)
- Computer proficiency required
- Positive attitude and team spirit
