Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and lead engaging individual and group recreational activities tailored to residents' interests, abilities, and needs.
- Maintain and distribute activity calendars and ensure schedules are current and accurately posted.
- Prepare, organize, and clean up activity spaces while ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for all participants.
- Assist with resident transportation to on- and off-campus activities and provide supervision during outings.
- Document resident participation and maintain required records in compliance with regulations.
- Care for program pets and maintain clean pet areas.
- Collaborate effectively with residents, families, coworkers, and other departments to deliver exceptional resident experiences.
- Demonstrate professionalism through reliable attendance, flexibility, clear communication, and adherence to organizational policies and procedures.
- Participate in ongoing training and perform additional duties as assigned to support quality resident care.
Qualifications
- Experience working with the geriatric population preferred.
- Must be able to work with residents with varying degrees of cognitive and physical impairments.
- Good organization, time management, and recording keeping skills.
- Patience, creativity, punctuality, dependability, flexibility, enthusiasm, initiative, and the ability to work with Healthcare residents.
- Self-directed to accomplish tasks.
- Ability to work in close cooperation with Healthcare Program Manager, accept and utilize supervisory recommendations, and display initiative to complete activity related tasks and programs.
- Computer skills are essential.
Physical Conditions
- Works in a well-lighted, well ventilated building.
- Move tables, chairs, and exerting twenty pounds of force on a frequent basis.
- Ability to lift 50Ibs on an occasional basis.
- Performs a medium level of physical work – pushing, lifting, bending, kneeling, standing, sitting, carrying, stooping, and reaching.
