Activities Leader (Part Time)

About the role

Responsibilities

• Work with nursing home residents, promoting social interactions, opportunities for leisure, and personal wellbeing.
• Help residents meet their goals through activities that may include one on one interventions and small groups of around five participants.
• Work primarily during evening hours (3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.) with some flexibility and every other weekend rotation.
• Minimum of 20 hours per week.

Requirements

• CNA certification or ability to pass CNA certification required.
• Experience working in a nursing home, with people with mental illness, and leading activities.
• Knowledge of mental illness; Dementia care; documentation methods; recreational activities in relation to resident and facility goals; leisure skills.
• Ability to plan, organize, and facilitate recreational groups and individual sessions.
• Effective communication and documentation skills.
• Positive role model and adaptability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Passing score on the CNA exam.

Pay

$20.25 hourly, depending on qualifications.

Schedule
