About the role
As an Activities Director, you will plan, organize, and implement a program of activity and leisure pursuits designed to meet the social, spiritual, intellectual, emotional, educational, and physical needs and interests of residents in accordance with the comprehensive resident care plan.
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and implement activity and leisure programs for residents
- Ensure programs meet social, spiritual, intellectual, emotional, educational, and physical needs
- Align activities with the comprehensive resident care plan
Requirements
- Passion for working with seniors
- Flexible, fun, and energetic personality
- Certified Activities Director accreditation preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in recreation therapy or related area
- Licensed or registered nationally or by the state in which practicing
- Minimum of one year of experience as an Activities Director in a LTC/SNF/AL/MC setting
- Two years of experience conducting social and recreational programs within the past five years, one of which must be full-time in a resident activities program in a health care setting
- Professional image in both appearance and behavior
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
