Job Summary

Vista Manor Healthcare & Rehabilitation is seeking a compassionate, creative, and energetic Activities Director to lead and enhance our recreational services program. This role plays a vital part in delivering person-centered care while creating meaningful and engaging experiences that enrich the lives of our residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and implement a comprehensive activities program that addresses residents’ social, emotional, cognitive, and physical needs.
  • Customize activities based on individual interests, abilities, and care plans to promote inclusion and engagement.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with community organizations to enhance programming and outreach.
  • Cook up and coordinate transportation for resident outings and off-site appointments as needed.
  • Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations related to activity services.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, participation logs, records, and reports to support regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with the Administrator and Activities Consultant to drive continuous program improvement.
  • Manage departmental budgeting, scheduling, and staffing effectively.
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise the activities team, fostering a positive and supportive work environment.
  • Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to integrate activities into residents’ daily routines and care plans.
  • Utilize PCC (PointClickCare), assist with care plans, participate in QAPI initiatives, and collaborate on MDS-related processes.

Qualifications

  • Must be a qualified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist or a licensed Activities Professional in the State of Florida.
  • Experience in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) preferred.
  • Working knowledge of PCC, care planning, QAPI, and MDS processes required.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
