Activities Director

About the role

The Activities Director plans, organizes, develops, and directs the overall operation of the Recreation/Activity Department. This role ensures an on-going program of activities is designed to meet the interests and the physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of each resident in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, as well as established policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the activity programs of the facility.
• Assist in the development, administration, and coordination of department policies and procedures.
• Provide consultation to staff, community agencies, and others to address resident needs through activity programs.
• Assist the Infection Control Coordinator in identifying, evaluating, and classifying routine and job-related activity functions to ensure tasks involving potential exposure to blood/body fluids are properly identified and recorded.

Requirements

• CTRS preferred.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a social or recreation program within the last five (5) years.
• Experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility is preferred.
