Activities Coordinator
About the role
The MENTOR Network is a mission-based organization dedicated to providing high quality services to those we serve. NeuroRestorative, a part of the Sevita family, offers rehabilitation services for people of all ages with brain, spinal cord and medically complex injuries, illnesses and other challenges. Services are provided in a variety of locations and community-based settings, including vocational and therapy programs, day treatments, and specialized services for infants, children, adolescents, Military Service Members and Veterans.
Responsibilities
- Works directly with individuals with developmental disabilities by conducting group and individual recreation activities according to individual needs, capabilities, and interests.
- Determines and implements necessary precautions in exercising responsibility for the care and safety of individuals served.
- Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to identify and implement meaningful group activities with focus on emphasizing the preferences of individuals served.
- Provides instruction and guidance to staff regarding activity delivery methods and techniques daily as well as at staff meetings.
- Maintains and continuously amends curriculum binders for each classroom to ensure that varied and age appropriate activities are planned and conducted for individuals served.
- Attends continuing education courses as required.
- Performs other related duties and activities as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years’ experience working with developmentally disabled adults including planning and conducting activities for this population
- Valid driver’s license in good standing
- Car registration and vehicle insurance if providing transportation for individuals receiving services
- All state required training and certification completed in mandated timeframes
- Certification in Activity Coordinator preferred
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience: Two years’ experience working with developmentally disabled adults including planning and conducting activities for this population

- Ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities
- Knowledge of activity delivery methods and techniques
- Collaboration skills with interdisciplinary teams
- Curriculum management and maintenance
- Continuing education attendance
