Job Summary

Aid in developing resident activity programs. Implement activities as directed by the Life Enrichment Coordinator. Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and company policies.

Position Overview

  • Organize and conduct activities for residents in Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care.
  • Maintain a balance of recreational activities.
  • Facilitate group activities, 1-1 visits, and community events.
  • Coordinate activities with other departments.
  • Communicate activity schedules to residents, families, volunteers, and team members.
  • Create and maintain vibrant person-centered monthly Life Enrichment calendars.
  • Prepare and organize activity supplies and equipment.
  • Prepare monthly reports on activity program progress.
  • Invites and assists residents to and from activities.
  • Participate in trainings as requested.
  • Recognize and report resident changes requiring nursing intervention.
  • Maintain a professional appearance, communication, and confidentiality.
  • Supervise volunteers as necessary.
  • May assist residents on outings, including driving company vehicles.

Qualifications

  • Minimum high school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 6 months of experience preferred.
  • Awareness of special needs and dimensions of wellness for older adults.
  • Tactful and skilled in engaging residents with different interests and abilities.
  • Ability to initiate and lead activities, find resources, and demonstrate empathy.
  • Adaptability to new technology.
  • Enjoy working with senior adults, exercise judgment, display empathy, and have a caring attitude.
