Activities Assistant, FL PACE Centers

Job Summary

Provides group and one-to-one therapeutic recreation to all program participants.

Essential Job Functions

• Guides, directs, and monitors participants during group activities to assist in maintaining or surpassing his/her social, emotional, cognitive and physical levels of functioning
• Aids Director with activity planning as needed
• Maintains documentation in a neat and legible manner
• Deals appropriately with the special needs of participants and their families
• Reports any abnormal signs and/or symptoms to Nursing Manager/Supervisor and the Department Director immediately

Education Job Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Associate’s Degree preferred
• Training in Therapeutic Recreation is desirable

Experience

• A minimum of one year experience presenting activities to an aging population desirable

Functional Demands

• Environment: Normal working condition with adequate lighting and ventilation
• Infectious Material Exposure: Occasional exposure to blood/body fluids/tissues
