About the role

Johns Island Post Acute is a 132-bed skilled nursing and rehab facility located in Johns Island, SC, near historic downtown Charleston. We believe in fostering strong relationships within our community, among our staff, and with residents and their families. 🎨✨

Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning and leading individual, small group, and large group activities
  • Help create a fun, creative, and interactive activities program
  • Encourage residents to participate in hobbies, crafts, games, reading, music, and social events
  • Assist with resident outings and transportation when needed
  • Aid in developing monthly activity calendars and maintaining attendance records
  • Support care planning, resident assessments, and progress documentation
  • Help keep the Activity Department clean, organized, and welcoming
  • Communicate positively with residents, families, staff, and community members

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous Long-term Care Experience preferred
  • Friendly, patient, and compassionate personality
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Creative mindset and willingness to engage residents in meaningful activities

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent standing, walking
  • Sitting occasionally
  • Frequent reaching with hands and arms
  • Pushing/pulling very frequently
  • Talking and /or hearing very frequently
  • Tasting and /or smelling very frequently
  • Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Occasional bending, kneeling, crouching or crawling
  • Close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception in vision

Qualifications

  • Educational requirement: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience: One year experience in a long-term care facility preferred
