Key Responsibilities
- Aid the Activities Director in planning, organizing, and implementing daily activity programs for residents.
- Encourage and assist resident participation in group activities, recreational programs, special events, and community outings.
- Support residents during activities by providing assistance, encouragement, and supervision as needed.
- Prepare activity materials, supplies, decorations, and equipment for scheduled programs and events.
- Maintain accurate attendance records and documentation related to resident participation.
- Transport residents safely to and from activities within the facility when needed.
- Observe and report changes in resident mood, behavior, interests, or participation levels to the Activities Director and nursing staff.
- Create a welcoming, engaging, and inclusive environment that promotes resident independence and dignity.
- Participate in holiday celebrations, special events, and facility-wide activities.
- Maintain activity areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
- Adhere to all facility policies, safety procedures, infection control standards, and applicable state and federal regulations.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience working with seniors, long-term care residents, or recreational activities preferred but not required.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work professionally with residents, families, and team members.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- A positive attitude, creativity, and enthusiasm for working with older adults.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
- Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
