Activities Assistant

Job Description

Activities Services:

• Aid in planning, implementing, and evaluating the program’s events, themes, and schedules.
• Drive the facility bus on activity outings, physician appointments, and other resident-related events.
• Assist as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) daily, including passing trays and assisting residents with meals.
• Serve as a CNA during critical staffing shortages.
• Maintain a neat and organized activity work area.
• Deliver resident mail.
• Manage petty cash for resident outings, spending, etc.

Resident Assessments

• Support initial and ongoing assessments of residents' conditions and activity needs.
• Advise and consult with the Activities Coordinator.
• Maintain daily documentation of refrigerator/freezer temperatures, food consumption, and beauty salon service scheduling.
• Ensure the completion and accuracy of Activity Program records in departmental charts and attendance logs.

Supplies / Materials

• Organize, store, maintain, and manage the department's supplies, materials, and equipment.
• Create an active list of supplies needed for the facility's beauty shop.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Prior successful work/volunteer experience with geriatric/handicapped persons is preferred.
• CNA certification is required.
• Knowledge and skill in serving adult populations, particularly geriatrics, are essential for success in this position.
• Above-average communication skills are necessary for effective performance in this role.
