Key Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and conducting daily activity programs, including events, holiday celebrations, and entertainment
- Encourage participation and provide individual support during activities, promoting physical, emotional, and social well-being
- Set up, decorate, and clean activity areas before and after events, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment
- Transport participants or residents to and from activities when needed, demonstrating empathy and kindness
- Build positive relationships with participants, families, and team members, fostering a sense of community and belonging
- Maintain activity supplies and assist with inventory, showcasing attention to detail and organizational skills
- Document attendance and participant involvement as required, ensuring accurate records and reporting
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Activities Director, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred
- Previous experience in recreation, customer service, healthcare, or senior care is a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and patient personality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with basic computer skills preferred
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and assist with activity setup, demonstrating physical stamina and willingness
Work Environment
- This position may involve standing, walking, bending, lifting, and assisting participants throughout the day
- Evening, weekend, and holiday hours may be required depending on scheduled activities and special events
