Responsibilities
- Aid in the execution of various daily activity programs aimed at enhancing the quality of life through physical, mental, and spiritual wellness.
- Support the Activities Director in making daily announcements, including resident birthdays, weather updates, and other pertinent information.
- Assist in addressing the sensory needs of bedridden residents and LYFE participants.
- Participate in planning the monthly activity calendar and contribute ideas for future activities.
- Communicate with the Activities Director about daily issues, concerns, and behavioral problems involving residents.
- Document attendance and individual participation records for activities.
- Supervise and orient volunteers during activities.
- Attend scheduled outings and communicate with community representatives visiting the facility.
- Represent the Department in the Director's absence and attend administrative meetings as needed.
- Collaborate with other staff members to organize and conduct events.
- Comply with FutureCare’s Statement of Corporate Ethics and the Corporate Compliance Plan.
- Report any malfunctioning equipment or observed hazards to the appropriate departments.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year of experience working in a skilled nursing facility environment preferred.
- A strong desire to work with the elderly or disabled.
- Previous experience in arts/crafts and/or music is highly desirable.
- The ability to handle emotional and behavioral disturbances.
- To be vivacious and patient in interactions with residents.
- To be available to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as scheduled.
Qualifications
