About the role
Heartland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is seeking an Activities Assistant to enhance the quality of life for their residents through meaningful recreational and social activities.
Responsibilities
- Aid the Activities Director in creating and posting monthly activity calendars
- Distribute calendars to resident rooms and common areas
- Interview residents and families to identify interests and activity preferences
- Escort and assist residents to and from activity locations
- Facilitate group and one-on-one activities that encourage engagement and socialization
- Document participation and resident responses in activity progress notes
- Observe and report changes in resident mood, behavior, or engagement
- Auxiliary support for off-site outings and special events
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for effective activity planning
- Participation in Resident and Family Council meetings and quality assurance initiatives
Requirements
- Valid CNA License – required
- Availability to work every other weekend
- Minimum 1 year of experience, preferably in a skilled nursing or healthcare setting
