Active Seniors Program Assistant
About the Role
The Active Seniors Program Assistant plays a key role in supporting the delivery of engaging, mission-driven programs that build community and foster meaningful participation for area seniors. This position supports both daily programming and special events, working closely with the Director to ensure a welcoming, inclusive environment that reflects the mission of the JCC of Northern NJ. The role combines hands-on work with seniors and the creative, organizational, and administrative planning and implementation of the program within the context of Jewish nonprofit/communal life.
Schedule
20-25 hours per week: 9:30 AM–2:30 PM, two days per week in River Edge, NJ, and two days per week in West Nyack, NY.
Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of daily programming and special events for seniors.
- Work closely with the Director to create a welcoming, inclusive environment.
- Assist with creative, organizational, and administrative planning and implementation.

Experience & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Prior experience in event planning, education, community work, or senior services a plus.
- Comfort with computers and technology (Google Drive, A/V equipment, email tools) or a willingness and aptitude to learn.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Pay
$25,000 – $35,000 per year.
About the Organization
The JCC of Northern NJ deeply values the older adults in its community, with senior programs as one of its two signature initiatives. Programs are based in central River Edge, NJ (Bergen County), while administrative offices are located at the Lewis JCC in Rockland County, NY.
