Acquisition Test Manager Common Armament Tester - Fighters

About the role

This position serves as the test manager for the Common Armament Tester - Fighters (CAT-F) within the Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) at the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC), Robins AFB, Georgia. The role involves planning and executing the test program for this ACAT III acquisition program in the Automatic Test Systems (ATS) Division.

Responsibilities

• Perform Systems Engineering activities, including Operational Safety, Suitability and Effectiveness (OSS&E) assurance, establishing technical requirements and baselines, systems integration and test, analyzing configuration alternatives, validating system performance, technology insertion, and establishing nuclear and cyber security certifications for the CAT-F program.
• Perform analysis of alternatives and develop recommendations for the Milestone Decision Authority (MDA).
• Write and review test plans, engage in Test Readiness activities, lead test events to perform Formal Qualification Tests (FQT) and Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP), write and review test reports, verify requirements traceability, and verify test documents prior to making product release recommendations.
• Develop and oversee execution of the program test plan; provide independent assessment of program test events.
• Interface with DoD program offices, major commands, contractor and organic providers, maintainers, and users at all organizational levels.
• Collaborate with multi-functional entities, including other IPT members, engineers, supervisors, users, maintainers, and MAJCOM to resolve cost, schedule, performance, priority, and resource constraints.
• Support duties such as cost estimating, market research, technical requirements development (system design), technical evaluations, schedule development, leading source selection/acquisition/sustainment activities, planning and leading testing activities, and ensuring technical performance while supporting overarching program cost, schedule, and performance objectives.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Must obtain and maintain a Security clearance.
• This is a designated Drug Testing Position.
• Engineering degree from an ABET accredited program is required.
• DAWIA Certification: Ability to obtain Test and Evaluation Practitioner Certification.
• Strong expertise and experience with Test and Evaluation processes and procedures.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work on teams and with interdisciplinary counterparts.
• Experience in Acquisition Contract efforts is highly desired.
• Certified Acquisition Professional in Engineering & Technical Management highly desired.
• Knowledge in Armament Systems, including bomb racks and missile launchers, is preferred.
