ACNP/PA - Emergency Medicine - Augusta, GA
About the Role
Wellstar Medical Group has a full-time Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) opening with our Emergency Medicine Department, based in Augusta, GA. This role will work with our critical care team at Wellstar Hospital only. Full-time is defined as 17 shifts monthly.
Schedule
The daily schedule will vary Sunday through Saturday, including holidays. Shifts rotate between 7a-4p, 8a-5p, and 4p-1a daily. The APP is expected to be available to work all days of the week and varying shift schedules.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in the emergency room, including initial patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and stabilization of acutely ill or injured patients.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure timely and appropriate care delivery.
- Interpret diagnostic tests and formulate differential diagnoses.
- Initiate appropriate treatment plans for a wide range of medical emergencies such as trauma, cardiac events, and respiratory distress.
- Perform minor surgical procedures like laceration repair and wound care.
- Administer medications including IVs, pain management, and emergency medications.
- Effectively communicate with attending physicians, nurses, ancillary staff, and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Provide clear instructions to patients regarding follow-up care and discharge planning, addressing any concerns or questions.
