About the role

This position is a licensed independent practitioner credentialed through the Medical Staff Services Office. The role is full-time with budgeted hours of 36 and operates on a Day/Eve rotation at 55 Fogg Road, Weymouth, MA 02190.

Responsibilities

  • Performs evaluations, including: pertinent history and physical exam on patients assigned to Urgent Care. Institute a plan of care based on findings. Inform the responsible Emergency Physician of pertinent subjective and objective data and routine diagnostic and therapeutic measures initiated.
  • Documents clinical findings and impressions on the patients record. Consults MD, when necessary, prior to proceeding with care. Orders diagnostic ss. Prescribes required medications and treatments. Coordinates subspecialty referrals in consultation with the responsible Emergency physician. Provides follow-up instructions for patient and/or family.
  • Performs special procedures after orientation and documentation of competency. All procedures will be performed in accordance with approved protocols.
  • Serves as clinical resource to nursing staff. Assists in the development of emergency nursing staff. Participates in Quality Monitoring activities. Assists in the development of treatment protocols.
  • Evaluates patients in regard to discharge or admission in order to improve the flow of patients.

Requirements

  • PA - Physician Assistant license required.
  • NP - Nurse Practitioner license required.
  • NCCPA - National Commission on Certification Physician Assistants required.
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support required.
  • Pediatric Life Support (PALS) certification preferred.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrates history of proficiency in the delivery of Emergency Medical care to patients of all ages.
  • Demonstrates history of a strong member of an Emergency Care Team successful completion of South Shore Hospital credentialing process.

Skills

  • Proficiency in delivering Emergency Medical care.
  • Ability to perform special procedures after orientation and documentation of competency.
  • Knowledge of emergency nursing staff development.
  • Experience in quality monitoring and treatment protocol development.
  • Discharge and admission evaluation skills.

Benefits

Compensation range is $130,600.00 - $189,400.00.

Schedule

Three 12 hours shifts per week
