Acct Rec Biller Collections

Department: KH Patient Financial Services. Location: Larkin Bldg @ Exchange Street, Buffalo, NY. Work Type: Full-Time. Scheduled Work Hours: 6a‑2p, 7a‑3p, 8a‑4p (Shift 1). Requisition ID#: 19821 | Grade: C6.

Responsibilities

• Perform billing and follow‑up on denied and underpaid claims.
• Secure expected reimbursement from all responsible payers.
• Apply contractual allowances.
• Generate appeals.
• Assign self‑payment responsibility.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.

Requirements

• 2 years of Patient Financial Services billing experience or two years medical billing experience in a hospital and/or physician environment (or equivalent combination of recent billing certification and experience).
• Data entry – alphanumeric (hard copy) proficiency.
• Microsoft Excel 2000 – normal user level (skills test required).
• Ability to perform sedentary work (lifting up to 10 lbs).

Pay

Salary range: $21.40 – $31.91 per hour (pay frequency: bi‑weekly). Actual wage based on experience, qualifications, internal equity, and applicable collective bargaining agreement.

Schedule

Full‑time position. Standard bi‑weekly hours: 75.00 (FTE = 1.0000). Shift options: 6a‑2p, 7a‑3p, 8a‑4p (Shift 1). No weekend/holiday requirement, no on‑call duty. Work arrangement: onsite. Union code: U28 – SEIU 1199 Kaleida PFS BusOfcCl.
