Essential Functions
- Oversees the accreditation process, including assessments; evaluates and reports the efficiency and effectiveness of the accreditation program.
- Plans and monitors the on-site assessments and maintains appropriate records relating to accreditation activities.
- Takes the lead role while preparing the agency for mock and on-site assessments.
- Performs administrative and professional assistance in planning, coordinating and managing the implementation, maintenance and adherence to the Sheriff’s Office accreditation.
- Maintains all files for compliance with the accreditation process.
- Assembles the accreditation team to write and review policies in adherence with applicable laws.
- Acts as a liaison between Sheriff’s Office administration, other agency employees and outside agencies in accreditation efforts.
- Maintains a standard format for policy review and revision.
- Regularly reports to Captain of Special Operations or designee and critical staff on accreditation compliance.
- Directs on-site inspections for compliance.
- Counsels and conducts research and planning and assists with presentations.
- Represents the agency in conjunction with the Sheriff’s designee at meetings and conferences, may serve on accreditation-related committees, and participates in accreditation-related training.
- Aids the bureau Captain and staff by performing a variety of administrative duties such as composing reports and correspondence, researching and compiling data, scheduling meetings, etc.
- Anticipates and prepares materials needed by supervisor for conferences, meetings, correspondence, etc.
- Interacts and communicates with agency supervisors and employees, County department directors, managers, etc.
Qualifications
- Requires an Associate’s degree in secretarial science, administrative management, accounting, finance or related field supplemented by one to two years of secretarial, clerical and/or bookkeeping experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Must possess excellent customer service skills.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently required to perform basic physical activities and communicate effectively to carry out essential job duties.
- Must be able to reach, bend, stoop, carry, move and lift 10 lb. objects regularly.
- Correctable vision sufficient to read monitors, labels, and drive safely.
