The Accreditation Coordinator supports the mission of BYU Continuing Education by coordinating and maintaining accreditation activities with Cognia, the Middle States Association (MSA), and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).

About the role

This position provides operational and administrative coordination of accreditation processes, including accreditation reviews, institutional communications, meeting and site-visit preparation, and accreditation documentation and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary contact for Cognia, MSA, and WASC accreditation
  • Coordinate accreditation processes (self-studies, reports, renewals, follow-ups)
  • Prepare and support accreditation reviews and site visits
  • Document & Evidence Stewardship
  • Maintain accurate, organized documentation aligned with standards and internal policies
  • Colelct and align evidence across internal units
  • Ensure consistent and efficient documentation practices
  • Collaboration & Communication
  • Collaborate with leadership, faculty, staff, and partners to gather data
  • Clearly communicate accreditation requirements and timelines
  • Support leadership in responding to accreditor feedback and completing compliance actions
  • Compliance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement
  • Monitor compliance and identify risks or gaps
  • Track action items and ensure timely completion
  • Promote continuous improvement and accreditation readiness
  • Administrative Support & Student Supervision
  • Supervise and support 1–2 student employees
  • Assign tasks, provide training, and review work quality
  • Coordinate schedules and provide performance feedback

Requirements

  • A firm commitment to the mission of BYU
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution; and 2–3 years of relevant experience in K–12 education, accreditation, compliance, institutional effectiveness, or a related administrative or coordination role
  • Strong organizational, project coordination, and deadline management skills with high attention to detail
  • Excellent written and professional communication skills, including accreditation-quality documentation and collaboration with stakeholders
  • Ability to interpret accreditation/compliance standards, identify risks or gaps, and apply processes effectively with minimal supervision

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in education, educational leadership, administration, policy, or a related field
  • 4–6 years of progressively responsible experience in accreditation, compliance, or education administration
  • Direct experience supporting accreditation processes (e.g., self-studies, site visits, annual or interim reporting)
  • Current Utah state K–12 educator or administrator license

Pay

Pay Grade: 51
Typical Starting Pay: $28.25 - $36.25

The actual compensation offered will take into consideration internal equity and may vary based on the candidate’s job-related experience, knowledge, skills, and other relevant factors. Candidates with very significant work-related experience may receive an offer higher than the posted typical range.
