About the Role
The Accounts Receivable Specialist II plays a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely reimbursement for services rendered. This position is responsible for managing the claims process, resolving issues, and obtaining full contractual reimbursement on behalf of members. The role contributes to the financial health of the organization by maximizing revenue recovery and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations.
Responsibilities
- Review claims for accuracy and completeness
- Correct claims promptly to ensure timely payment
- Rebill claims as necessary
- Resolve underlying claims issues
- Obtain claim status via phone or internet
- Conduct research including contacting patients, insurance carriers, and claim adjusters
- Manage claim appeals and respond to insurance carrier correspondence
- Follow up accurately and timely on denials and appeals
- Meet or exceed productivity and quality standards
- Work independently or within a team to achieve service level agreements
- Identify opportunities for improvements and submit suggestions
- Adhere to HIPAA guidelines and maintain data security
- Maintain reliable attendance and professionalism
- Report to the Accounts Receivable Lead
Requirements
- High school Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 2 years experience in full-cycle medical billing or relevant schooling
Pay
The pay range for this position is $19.04 per hour to $23.80 per hour, with final compensation based on qualifications and experience.
