Accounts Receivable Specialist

About the role

Star Lumber is seeking an experienced and dedicated Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, organized individual with strong numerical skills and exceptional customer service abilities.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage customer accounts to ensure timely payments
• Process incoming payments, including checks, ACH, and credit card transactions
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies or billing issues
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all transactions and communications
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales and customers, to resolve inquiries and disputes
• Set up new customer accounts and coordinate credit terms with finance
• Provide exceptional customer service and build strong customer relationships

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts receivable or a similar role
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Analytical problem-solving skills
• Ability to work under strict deadlines
• Sound judgment for making solid business decisions
• Professionalism, confidentiality, and strong interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)

What Will Put You Ahead

• Accounting or other finance work history
• Experience working with Great Plains, BisTrak, or RFMS software
