Accounts Receivable Specialist

We are a well-established mid-sized company in the Des Moines area looking for a contract-based Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our accounting team.

About the role

This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys managing customer accounts, resolving payment issues, and supporting cash flow through timely collections and accurate account maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Process customer payments, apply cash receipts, reconcile accounts, and maintain accurate AR records.
• Use ERP/accounting software and Microsoft Excel for reporting, account analysis, and data management.
• Perform collections activities (experience in this area is a plus).

Requirements

• 2+ years of accounts receivable, billing, or related accounting experience.
• Strong problem-solving and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with accounting and operations teams.
• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

• Strong understanding of accounts receivable processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
